During your studies at Ninewells Hospital in Dundee, you will gain immediate access to clinical environments, fostering a deep understanding of contemporary healthcare from the outset. With approximately 160 students per year, our medical school's intimate structure promotes strong connections with peers, academics, and clinicians, while early interactions with real patients help integrate you into our community.The curriculum begins with an eight-week foundation block, focusing on the core sciences of medicine to develop clinical problem-solving skills. Our spiral approach revisits topics progressively, allowing knowledge to build naturally over time. In the first three years, you will study body systems, including normal and abnormal functions, and explore clinical cases through anatomy dissection using Thiel-embalmed cadavers—a unique offering in the UK. Following this, you may opt for an intercalated BMSc, after which Levels 4 and 5 involve practical clinical placements across various specialties, applying your skills in real healthcare settings.
