About the course

Philosophy utilizes critical thinking and argumentation to investigate fundamental aspects of existence, making it suitable for those intrigued by profound life questions. This course specializes in continental European philosophy, teaching key texts from the tradition while encouraging the study of related modules in subjects like history, languages, international relations, politics, and geography. The program connects philosophy to real-world issues by exploring films, artwork, scientific and technological developments, ethical debates, and the relevance of historical texts to contemporary politics. At Levels 1 and 2, students build foundational knowledge in ancient and modern philosophy, including ethics, epistemology, and metaphysics. At Levels 3 and 4, specialization occurs through interdisciplinary modules on existentialism in relation to culture, technology, and film, as well as aesthetics and the philosophy of art, with opportunities to link concepts to fields like politics, literature, psychology, and computer science.
