About the course

The Art and Philosophy programme integrates Fine Art from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design with Philosophy from the School of Humanities, Social Sciences and Law. Students are instructed by internationally acclaimed artists and esteemed philosophers, exploring advanced philosophical perspectives on contemporary topics in politics, ethics, art, film, literature, and the sciences. This flexible course allows individuals to pursue their interests at their own pace, fostering skills for careers in the creative industries.Participants have access to diverse mediums in state-of-the-art studios, including painting, sculpture (such as clay, plaster, metal, ceramics, and bronze casting), woodworking, printmaking, photography, film, installation, performance, sound, and digital tools like 3D and laser-cutting. Opportunities for exhibitions, including a final-year Degree Show, enable students to showcase their work and build professional foundations.
