This multidisciplinary, professionally accredited MEng programme offers hands-on experience and specialised knowledge in product design and integrated systems, paving the way for you to become a Chartered Engineer. Mechatronic engineering integrates mechanical, electronic, and computer disciplines, as seen in robotics and self-driving cars. Established in 1984, our programme equips students with a well-rounded foundation through a common first year, followed by interdisciplinary modules in mechanical and electronic engineering, allowing flexibility in course choices.The second year involves studying abroad at partner universities in Europe, the USA, or Australia, enhancing personal growth and global perspectives on engineering education. Returning for years three and four, you’ll engage in advanced technical modules, research-led teaching, a dissertation, and real-world projects, including industry-linked work and group assignments. The programme is accredited by the IET and IMechE, delivered by world-class academics with access to cutting-edge facilities, preparing you for leadership roles in engineering.
