About the course

This multidisciplinary, professionally accredited BEng programme in mechatronic engineering offers hands-on experience and specialised knowledge in product design and integrated systems, combining mechanical, electronic, and computer engineering for applications like robotics and self-driving cars. As the first of its kind since 1984, it equips students with a well-rounded foundation through a common first year, followed by interdisciplinary modules in mechanical and electronic engineering, allowing flexibility in course selection. In the second year, students engage in project management by designing, building, and testing a mobile robot for tasks such as transporting materials. The programme includes a third-year industry placement to enhance employability, supported by strong research links with companies from multinationals to SMEs. Accredited by the IET and IMechE, it meets academic requirements for engineering registration and provides access to cutting-edge facilities and expert teaching.
