Our Mechanical Engineering degree employs a practical, hands-on approach to build essential skills and knowledge for careers in innovation and leadership. This field addresses a wide array of challenges, from basic components like nuts and bolts to advanced systems such as Formula One aerodynamics, opening doors to diverse and dynamic professional opportunities. The program is accredited by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE), fulfilling part of the requirements for Chartered Engineer status, and emphasizes practical activities to reinforce lectures, fostering teamwork, project management, and critical assessment skills.In Year 1, students gain a broad foundation in mechanical, electrical, electronic, and chemical engineering principles, alongside mathematics, to prepare for collaborative work on complex systems. Year 2 involves studying at an overseas partner university to enhance global perspectives. Years 3 and 4 focus on specialized topics like materials, dynamics, fluids, and thermodynamics, including design labs, a business project on Industry 4.0, and an individual research project tailored to personal interests.
