Mathematics with Philosophy, BSc (Hons)

This programme explores the core mechanisms of the universe while fostering advanced reasoning through an invigorating study of mathematics and philosophy. Spanning three years, the course draws on expertise from the Mathematics and Statistics, and Politics, Philosophy and Religion departments, offering high-quality teaching from leading academics.In the first year, students build foundational knowledge in mathematical methods, including calculus, probability, and logic, alongside an introduction to philosophy that covers diverse traditions and key themes. The second year advances studies in complex analysis, algebra, and philosophy modules, enhancing analytical skills. Finally, the third year allows specialisation in areas like combinatorics, integration theory, and philosophical topics such as aesthetics and ethics, tailoring the programme to individual career aspirations.
