At Lancaster University, geography students engage in dynamic learning beyond traditional lectures, utilizing state-of-the-art facilities, exploring scenic environments, participating in international field trips, and learning from globally recognized experts. Supported by career services, students can secure a paid 12-month placement in relevant organizations, gaining practical experience to enhance future employability.This interdisciplinary field combines human and physical geography to study Earth's landscapes, species, and environments. Based between rural northern areas and cities like Liverpool and Manchester, the program offers hands-on experiences through trips to sites such as the Yorkshire Dales, Lake District, Switzerland, and Croatia. In the first year, foundational modules build core skills in human, physical, and environmental geography. The second year allows specialization with practical training and a field trip to Spain, followed by an optional industrial placement in the third year. The final year culminates in a supervised dissertation and advanced optional modules on topics like global consumption, urban infrastructure, and natural hazards.
