About the course

Our design-based degree in electronic and electrical engineering fosters creativity while developing advanced practical and professional skills for diverse industries. It encompasses the broad application of electricity and electronics, from microprocessor systems to large-scale power generators. You will engage with our expertise in areas like microelectromechanical systems, radio frequency engineering, and collaborations with organizations such as CERN and the European Space Agency. The programme starts with a shared first year covering foundational topics like heat transfer and manufacturing, promoting interdisciplinary teamwork. In subsequent years, you’ll advance through specialist modules in programming and software, complete group and individual projects, and have the option for an industry placement. The third year includes a major individual research project and management training in finance, law, and sustainability. The fourth year features a significant group project applying your skills to cutting-edge technologies. Accredited by the IET, this programme prepares you for Chartered Engineer status and offers opportunities through the UKESF Scholarship Scheme, including bursaries and placements.
