About the course

This programme examines how organisms interact with their environment and the effects of human activities, through dynamic field-based and laboratory modules. Delivered by leading researchers, it provides comprehensive training in ecological theory and practice, combining lectures, practicals, fieldwork, and tutorials to foster hands-on expertise in species conservation and ecosystem management.Students will participate in fieldwork at sites like Doñana National Park in Spain, rural Scotland, and Kenya's Rift Valley. The first year introduces ecology and conservation biology with a Spanish field course. From the second year, specialisation options include modules on evolution and environmental physiology, leading to a third-year independent research project. Additional pathways include an MSci with professional placement or a study abroad year.
