Data science is essential in today's world, and our programme equips you with a robust foundation in this dynamic, high-demand field to support your career goals. It offers a comprehensive education in computer science and statistics, blending theoretical and practical methods, delivered by expert academics from the School of Computing and Communications and the Department of Mathematics and Statistics. Through advanced facilities and research-informed teaching, you will develop specialized skills and knowledge over four years.In your first year, you will master core principles of computer science and mathematics, enhancing data analysis and problem-solving abilities. The second year deepens expertise in linear algebra, probability, statistics, programming, and software design, including a Project Skills module for real-world experience. Year three allows specialization in optional modules and a major individual project, while year four features advanced training, a ten-week industry placement, and a capstone project for practical application. We are pursuing accreditation from bodies like the British Computer Society and Royal Statistical Society.
