Our MSci Hons Cyber Security programme equips future systems engineers and architects with a robust foundation in computer science, encompassing both theoretical and practical aspects. It builds on this base by integrating specialised cyber security topics, including penetration testing, digital forensics, cryptography, network security, and emerging areas like secure AI and cyber-physical systems. Drawing on world-class research from the School of Computing and Communications, the curriculum aligns with the UK’s Cyber Body of Knowledge (CyBok). In the first year, students master fundamental principles and applications through modules like Software Development and Digital Systems, while exploring ethical issues. The second year delves into advanced cyber security concepts such as cryptography and penetration testing. The third year focuses on topics like adversarial AI and large-scale systems, culminating in a substantial individual project. Finally, the fourth year offers advanced training, a ten-week industry placement, and a capstone project, providing real-world experience. This programme meets National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) accreditation standards.
