Cyber Security, BSc (Hons)

The BSc Honours in Cyber Security is designed for future systems engineers and architects, building on a strong foundation in computer science that covers both theoretical and practical elements. It integrates specialised knowledge in areas such as penetration testing, digital forensics, cryptography, network security, and resilient distributed systems, drawing from world-class research in the School of Computing and Communications.In the first year, students develop core principles and practical skills through modules like Software Development and Digital Systems, while exploring ethical issues. The second year advances cyber security concepts aligned with the UK’s Cyber Body of Knowledge, including cryptography and penetration testing. In the third year, advanced topics like secure AI and cyber-physical systems are covered, culminating in a substantial individual project. This programme meets National Cyber Security Centre accreditation standards.
