Computer science is a dynamic field with diverse applications, and our Study Abroad programme enables students to expand their academic and cultural perspectives in another country, making our graduates highly desirable in industry. This initiative builds self-confidence, introduces new cultures and learning methods, and provides a thorough, rigorous foundation in computer science through theoretical and practical approaches. Students develop comprehensive professional and technical skills using advanced equipment and expert instruction at the School of Computing and Communications.In the first year, students gain a solid understanding of core principles and their modern applications through modules like Software Development, Information Systems, and Digital Systems, with a focus on practical system building and user feedback. The second year delves into deeper, specialised topics, while the third year involves studying at an overseas partner university to enhance global perspectives. Returning for the final year, students select enriching optional modules and complete an individual project under academic guidance. Lancaster University will endeavour to secure overseas placements, though availability is not guaranteed, and students must handle financial responsibilities; alternatives include transferring to a standard degree if needed.
