Our flexible Biological Sciences degree allows you to explore life sciences through a range of dynamic modules tailored to your interests, complemented by a paid 12-month placement in your desired field. Supported by the university, you'll gain real-world experience as a full-time employee, receiving ongoing academic and pastoral guidance. This programme equips you with essential skills to address global challenges, such as disease treatment and species conservation, through study in state-of-the-art labs with renowned researchers in topics like genetics, biomedicine, and evolution.In your first year, you'll engage in introductory modules from atoms to zoology, including a placement preparation course. The second year focuses on specialised theory and practical skills, with a work-based learning module to aid placement applications. The third year involves an industrial placement; if unsuccessful, you'll transfer to the standard BSc programme. Careers support includes CV advice, interview techniques, and professional development workshops.
