87.9% of our Engineering research outputs were assessed as world-leading or internationally excellent (REF 2021).This course addresses the growing importance of sustainability in the automotive industry, equipping students with fundamental knowledge in materials, manufacturing, mechanics, and electrical circuits, alongside CAD modelling, programming, numerical modelling, low-emission propulsion, advanced vehicle technologies, electrical drives, and dynamics. Research from our Dynamics, Control, and Vehicle group directly informs teaching, with projects in diagnostics, intelligent controllers, and autonomous vehicles. Students access Future Technologies Labs, manufacturing facilities with CNC machines and 3D printers, and Formula Student projects to design electric racing cars. Supported by academic advisers, mentors, and industry links, graduates are prepared for automotive challenges, including sustainability. An optional placement enhances employability, with careers team assistance. Accredited for career advantage; available as four-year MEng, three-year BEng, or four-year BEng with placement.
