Mathematics with Finance, BSc (Hons)

Ninety-five percent of our Mathematical Sciences research is rated world-leading or internationally excellent (REF 2021). This course is ideal for those passionate about mathematics and eager to excel in financial industries. You will advance your knowledge in pure and applied mathematics, statistics, and financial analysis, learning from experts in both fields. Based on cutting-edge research, the programme includes core modules early on, leading to optional third-year topics such as financial mathematics, risk management, asset valuation, and derivatives. You will develop analytical skills using tools like MATLAB, Python, and R, with support from academic advisers and career services.The course prepares you for careers in finance, banking, risk analysis, and insurance, emphasizing data analysis, coding, and teamwork. Our close-knit Department of Mathematics offers dedicated lecturer support. Accredited towards Chartered Mathematician status, it is also available as a four-year MMath.
