This course offers a strong foundation in English law, alongside international, European, and Canadian perspectives. Students select one language from Arabic, British Sign Language, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Mandarin Chinese, or Spanish, while covering the regulation of individual-state relations, dealings between individuals and groups, and theoretical/practical law aspects.Taught by research-active faculty within a vibrant community, it includes Sussex Law Clinics for practical experience and firm-sponsored competitions in mooting, advocacy, interviewing, negotiation, mediation, and debating. The program builds analytical, argumentative, and persuasive skills, with alumni career support, culminating in a qualifying law degree. It meets academic requirements for Bar training (https://www.barstandardsboard.org.uk/) and solicitor qualification via SQE (https://www.sra.org.uk/), subject to pass marks.
