You’ll be supported by our experts. They have links with the creative industries, as well as literary events such as the poetry series Placeholder and the festival The Coast is Queer. You’ll explore a wide range of films to discover how cinema entertains, informs and influences its audiences. You’ll:

  • investigate global film cultures
  • question representations of gender, race and sexuality
  • analyse popular genres.
Our engaged and passionate tutors will guide you through each year of your degree. Throughout your studies, you’ll develop your critical and analytical skills. Specialist options allow you to tailor your degree to what inspires you most. Our teaching has involved:
  • working with unique archives such as the private letters of Virginia Woolf and Doris Lessing
  • field trips to literary landmarks such as Woolf’s house and the Globe Theatre.
You’ll also have the opportunity to experiment with your own writing, supported by our experts.
