At the University of Sussex, 100% of our research impact in Computer Science and Informatics has been rated as world-leading or internationally excellent (REF 2021). Our MComp in Computer Science offers a rigorous professional education, covering fundamental computing concepts and advanced specialisms such as artificial intelligence, digital media, IT management, and mobile systems. Students study in state-of-the-art Future Technologies Labs, featuring high-spec computers and collaborative workspaces, preparing them for high-demand industry roles. An optional industry placement year is available to enhance employability, with support from our careers team for applications and interviews; unsuccessful applicants can switch to a non-placement version.The course is accredited by BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT. We also offer variants as a three-year BSc or four-year BSc with placement. Located on a scenic campus near the South Downs National Park and Brighton & Hove, with easy access to Gatwick and London, Sussex fosters innovation in research, education, and global contributions, challenging students to excel in various fields.
