At Sussex, with a legacy of excellence from Nobel winners to links with the Sussex Drug Discovery Centre, you'll learn from leading chemists in the School of Life Sciences. Gain hands-on lab experience from Year 1, using facilities like Mass Spectrometry and NMR. Study physical, organic and inorganic chemistry; master experimental analysis, data processing, programming, teamwork and time management.Graduates pursue careers as medicinal chemists, materials scientists, consultants or R&D chemists at firms like GlaxoSmithKline, Deloitte or Johnson Matthey, or in the NHS, publishing and education. Annual summer research placements (with stipend) and an integrated Masters build advanced skills. Accredited by the Royal Society of Chemistry for Chartered Chemist (CChem). Options include no placements, industrial year or three-year BSc. Study on a green campus near the South Downs, Brighton & Hove, Gatwick and London.
