About the course

Taught by field experts and informed by the latest social research developments, our course equips you to assess issues surrounding crime and social problems. You will explore key questions, such as how society functions, the positioning of crime and social issues within it, cultural interpretations of these challenges, and lessons from successful social policies abroad. The BA (Hons) Criminology and Social Policy degree adopts an international perspective on diverse social issues, including crime and criminal justice, inequality and welfare, race, immigration, disability, addictions, youth, and ageing. Gain skills to independently research, analyse, and evaluate these topics, while benefiting from strong research ties to on-campus organisations like the Scottish Centre for Crime and Justice Research, Scottish Institute for Policing Research, Salvation Army Centre for Addiction Services and Research, and Dementia Centre.
