What determines an animal’s resistance to disease? Why do many female animals exhibit mate choice? How can we help animals cope in hostile environments? On this course, you will study the enormous variety of animal life on Earth and discover answers to these and many other questions.We explore key aspects of animal biology, including behaviour, ecology, evolution, cell biology, and physiology, alongside applied topics in conservation and management. Laboratory technical skills and fieldwork are essential to your training: you will learn core life sciences techniques early in the degree, apply them to your own research questions, and gain fieldwork experience at the University of Stirling campus and residential field courses in Scotland.
