About the course

Are you interested in the evolution of animal behaviour, genetic engineering of crops, or the hidden worlds of molecular and cell biology? Curious about how plants and animals will respond to climate change? Our course explores the full scope of life across biological disciplines, from bacteria to blue whales and enzymes to ecosystems. In the first two years, you will gain an in-depth understanding of the processes governing life on Earth, then specialise in your areas of interest. You will develop practical skills through research involvement, contributing to biological discoveries. Essential training includes laboratory techniques, life sciences methods, and fieldwork at the University of Stirling campus and Scottish residential courses.
