Software Engineering (Faster Route), MSci (Hons), with industry placement

Software Engineering involves developing and maintaining large-scale, complex software systems. This programme integrates theoretical computing science with contemporary industry principles and practices, providing hands-on, real-world experience.The School of Computing Science established the innovative Centre for Computing Science Education in 2017 to advance educational leadership. Following year three, BSc students undertake a paid summer placement in industry, while MSci students with work placements extend this to a full year. High-achieving applicants to Computing Science or Software Engineering, excelling in Advanced Highers, A-levels, or International Baccalaureate, may qualify for the Faster Route, allowing the four-year BSc Honours to be completed in three years or the five-year MSci in four through additional classes.
