The Portuguese program encompasses the study of languages, literatures, and cultures from Brazil, Portugal, and the broader Portuguese-speaking world. At Glasgow, students participate in a diverse curriculum, working in small groups with native speakers from Portugal and Brazil. The program features established ties with the Instituto Camões and provides access to the Language Resources Centre, offering high-quality audiovisual, digital, and printed materials.Studying Italian explores the language and culture of a key EU nation that has shaped Europe's political and artistic heritage. Glasgow maintains a strong tradition in Italian studies, supported by excellent library resources, with teaching in small groups led mostly by native speakers to foster advanced fluency in written and spoken Italian.
