Portuguese studies at Glasgow encompass the languages, literatures, and cultures of Brazil, Portugal, and the broader Lusophone world. The program offers small-group classes with native speakers from Portugal and Brazil, longstanding links with the Instituto Camões, and full access to the Language Resources Centre, featuring extensive audiovisual, digital, and print materials.Archaeology explores how past societies interacted with their environments through detailed analysis of artifacts, sites, monuments, and landscapes. Students gain practical fieldwork skills in the UK and abroad, with recent projects in the Baltic states, Cyprus, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Italy, and Portugal.
