Studying Italian provides access to the language and culture of a prominent EU nation that has significantly influenced Europe's political and artistic evolution. At Glasgow, we maintain a rich tradition of Italian studies, bolstered by outstanding library resources. Instruction occurs in small groups, primarily led by native Italian speakers, enabling students to achieve advanced proficiency in both written and spoken Italian.Philosophy involves the rigorous use of reason and argument to address fundamental questions concerning knowledge, existence, morality, science, and human nature. We offer engaging reading parties for students, typically held in the Highlands, and support a vibrant undergraduate Philosophy Society.
