The History programme at Glasgow examines change and continuity in human societies across time, offering a broad curriculum from medieval to modern eras and spanning the globe. It includes small group teaching, diverse assessments such as policy papers and blogs, and personalized feedback tutorials. We maintain leading research centres in gender history, war studies, slavery studies, American studies, and Scottish and Celtic studies, informed by world-class expertise in Scottish, British, European, U.S., and global history, as well as slavery, gender, and war-related fields.Politics explores the distribution of power and influence in society and its impact on decision-making within and among nations. Students engage with topics in international relations, political theory, and British politics, with opportunities to participate in our expanding study abroad programmes.
