**History of Art** The History of Art programme explores how and why paintings, sculptures, buildings, and designs across various media developed their distinctive appearances. Students benefit from the University Library and Archives, The Hunterian museum and art gallery—home to the renowned Hunter, Whistler, and Mackintosh collections—and Kelvin Hall, the University and city’s innovative collections-access centre. In the third-year vacation, a grant supports visits to relevant museums, galleries, and buildings.**Social and Public Policy** This programme addresses global and societal challenges including poverty, inequality, housing, health, technology, and sustainability. Drawing on political science, sociology, and economics, it examines how governments respond to people’s needs, welfare, and wellbeing. Students gain practical experience through a work placement with a voluntary or public sector organisation.
