The Film and Television Studies programme explores cinema and television as key drivers of enjoyment and knowledge in contemporary culture. Situated in Glasgow, a prominent hub for film and television production, the university frequently welcomes industry professionals and policymakers to engage with students.The History programme examines shifts and continuities in human societies across time, offering an extensive curriculum from medieval to modern eras and spanning global regions. It includes small-group instruction, varied assessments such as policy papers and blogs, and individualized feedback. Drawing on world-class research in areas like gender history, war studies, slavery studies, American studies, and Scottish and Celtic studies, the teaching leverages expertise in Scottish, British, European, U.S., and global history, along with specialized fields in slavery, gender, and conflict.
