History studies change and continuity in human society over time, with Scottish History focusing on Scotland’s past.At the University of Glasgow, English Language and Linguistics has been taught for over 75 years by field-leading staff. We developed the world-leading Historical Thesaurus of English and maintain dedicated laboratories for analysing spoken and written language. Scottish History features cutting-edge researchers across medieval to modern periods, supported by the cross-disciplinary Centre for Scottish & Celtic Studies, encouraging student involvement.
