About the course

Studying Economics at the University of Glasgow explores how individuals and society allocate scarce resources, produce goods, and distribute consumption, evaluating costs, benefits, risks, and externalities. Greek examines classical language, literature, history, and culture of ancient Greeks. Gain deep insights into market functions, government policy, developing economies, business economics, international trade, and finance. Our diverse, inclusive community and cutting-edge resources, backed by the triple-accredited Adam Smith Business School—meeting top global standards—equip you to tackle real-world challenges. Greek students visit archaeological sites and museums in Greece, with Honours students spending up to three weeks there or elsewhere in the ancient world.Graduates hone research, analysis, communication, teamwork, decision-making, and problem-solving skills. Economics alumni join EY, Morgan Stanley, Shell, Scottish Government, National Australia Group Europe, and Hays. Greek/Classics graduates pursue heritage, teaching, consultancy, finance, publishing, law, accountancy, or academia, as museum experts, librarians, teachers, civil servants, or IT developers.
