About the course

The Computing Science fast-track route enables high-achieving school leavers to complete an Honours Degree in three years or an MSci in four. The field encompasses programming, large-scale software engineering, human-computer interfaces, algorithms, machine learning, parallel and distributed systems, artificial intelligence, and data science. At the University of Glasgow, programmes emphasize enduring computational principles—such as modelling, abstraction, problem-solving, and algorithm analysis—while delivering practical experience with state-of-the-art technologies via projects and placements, fostering adaptability to rapid change. Graduates join global firms like Google, Meta, and Barclays, or startups, in roles including Cyber Security Professionals, Business Analysts, Software Developers, and Production Engineers; we support entrepreneurship. Accredited by the British Computer Society, Honours degrees qualify for full CITP and partial CEng, MSci for full CITP/CEng (BCS-only), with Euro-Inf quality labels.
