Classics encompasses the literature, history, art, and material culture of ancient Greece and Rome, with options to study Latin and/or Greek at any level.At the University of Glasgow, students can visit archaeological sites and museums in Italy and Greece, with Honours students eligible for up to three weeks abroad (typically post-year 3 summer) and financial support. Year 3 may be spent at universities in Europe (e.g., Athens or Rome), Australia, New Zealand, or North America. Honours offers diverse courses, and the ambassador scheme provides school experience to build workplace skills. Graduates pursue careers in heritage, teaching, consultancy, finance, publishing, law, accountancy, or academia. Recent roles include museum experts, librarians, teachers, civil servants, and IT developers; employers: PwC, Grant Thornton, Alexander Sloan, Cigna, Deloitte, Royal Bank of Scotland, Credit Suisse.
