Classics, MA (Hons)

Classics encompasses the study of literature, history, art, and material culture from ancient Greece and Rome, with options to learn Latin and/or Greek at any level.At the University of Glasgow, students can visit archaeological sites and museums in Italy and Greece as part of the programme. Honours students may spend up to three weeks (typically after year 3) exploring sites in Italy, Greece, or elsewhere in the ancient world, with financial support available to all Single Honours students. Year 3 can also be spent studying at universities in Europe (e.g., Athens or Rome), Australia, New Zealand, or North America. Graduates pursue diverse careers in heritage, teaching, consultancy, finance, publishing, law, accountancy, or academia. Recent alumni work as museum experts, librarians, archivists, teachers, civil servants, and IT/software developers.
