Classics encompasses the study of literature, history, art, and material culture from ancient Greece and Rome. Students can pursue Latin and/or Greek languages at any level, with opportunities to visit archaeological sites and museums in Italy and Greece as part of the program.History examines change and continuity in human societies over time, offering a broad curriculum that explores various approaches to understanding the present through political, economic, ideological, social, and cultural lenses. The program includes the Centre for Gender History, which collaborates with external organizations on women's and gender issues, and provides access to courses from the Scottish Centre for War Studies, specializing in warfare and conflict from medieval times to the present.
