The Central and East European Studies program examines the history, economics, politics, and sociology of countries in Central and Eastern Europe. The University hosts a government-funded Centre of Excellence for Russian, Central, and East European Studies, which organizes cultural, social, and academic events throughout the year.Scottish History explores changes and continuities in human society over time, with a focus on Scotland's past. At Glasgow, it features world-leading researchers across all periods, from medieval to modern, within a crossdisciplinary environment at the Centre for Scottish and Celtic Studies, where students are encouraged to participate.
