Central and East European Studies encompass the history, economics, politics, and sociology of countries in Central and Eastern Europe. The University serves as a hub for a government-funded Centre of Excellence for Russian, Central, and East European Studies, which organizes cultural, social, and academic events throughout the year.Italian studies explore the language and culture of a major EU country that has significantly influenced Europe’s political and artistic development. Glasgow offers a longstanding tradition in Italian education, supported by excellent library resources, with teaching in small groups by native speakers to develop high fluency in written and spoken Italian.
