Students can study the medieval and contemporary cultures of Celtic-speaking peoples alongside leading researchers, as part of a joint degree program that does not require learning a Celtic language.Central and East European Studies examines the history, economics, politics, and sociology of the region's countries. The University hosts a government-funded Centre of Excellence for Russian, Central, and East European Studies, which organizes cultural, social, and academic events throughout the year.
