About the course

Archaeology examines how past societies interacted with their environment through the analysis of artifacts, sites, monuments, and landscapes. Students can develop practical fieldwork skills in the United Kingdom and abroad, with recent participants engaging in projects in locations such as the Baltic states, Cyprus, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Italy, and Portugal. The Gaelic program explores Scottish Gaelic language and culture from historical periods to the present day, while enhancing language skills for the modern job market. Students may study Gaelic folklore, song, modern poetry, autobiography, and contemporary fiction. Additionally, the University's Gaelic initiatives and the city's vibrant Gaelic community provide opportunities to use the language outside the classroom.
