Ancient History encompasses the study of the history and culture of Greece, Rome, and the broader Mediterranean from the 8th century B.C. to the 5th century A.D. Students may opt to learn Latin and ancient Greek, with opportunities to visit archaeological sites and museums in Italy and Greece as part of the program.English Literature involves exploring diverse aspects of literature in English, drawing on expertise in areas such as American, Irish, and postcolonial literatures, critical theory, creative writing, and the connections between literature and other arts, media, and science. Participants will access world-class Hunterian and Library collections, which feature strengths in the 18th and 19th centuries, travel literature, illuminated manuscripts, and notable single-author holdings.
