Our MSci in Tropical Marine Biology at Essex immerses students in the diverse marine world, from whales and coral reefs to deep-sea trenches and tropical seagrass beds. Through field trips, such as underwater lectures in Indonesia's Wakatobi Marine National Park, participants gain hands-on research experience while exploring ecosystems under threat from human activities.The program delivers advanced theory and practical skills in marine biology, covering topics like marine communities, biodiversity, and conservation. With an Integrated Masters format, students complete their final year in nine months, specializing in areas of interest and undertaking independent projects on issues like turtle ecology or reef management, preparing them for rewarding careers in this essential field.
