The Emerging Media track enables students to blend art, storytelling, and technology. It aims to deliver a strong foundation in techniques and theory within a specific area of expertise, foster a comprehensive understanding of interconnected fields such as arts, humanities, and technology, and offer hands-on experience in multidisciplinary teams addressing real-world challenges. Administered by the School of Visual Arts and Design, the program accommodates diverse course combinations to suit individual needs. It features three specializations—Graphic Design, Character Animation, and Experimental Animation—that culminate in a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. The School emphasizes the importance of a theoretical and practical grasp of the human image's historical and studio applications for Visual Art and Art History students. To build this, art courses incorporate images of clothed and unclothed figures, and some studio classes use live nude models. Note: Emerging Media majors require ongoing access to a computer; consult the UCF Computer Store or its website for minimum hardware and software requirements.
