Physiology is an area of biology related tohow the human body works. Physiologistsare interested in how the cells and organsof the body operate and how their incrediblearray of processes co-operate to enableour bodies to function under normal andchallenging circumstances. Physiologistsare therefore at the forefront of medicalresearch and the search for a betterunderstanding of disease processes.At UCD, Physiology students acquire athorough understanding of the organs of thebody such as the heart, lungs, kidneys andhow they function, interact and respond tothe internal and external environment.
