About the course

Our Learning Disability Nursing BSc programme equips you with the skills and experience for a fulfilling career supporting individuals with learning disabilities across all ages and life stages. Over three years, you will develop critical thinking to assess complex needs, make accurate diagnoses, and plan care that enhances service users' societal participation, addressing mental, physical, cognitive, or behavioural challenges.Half of your studies occur at the university and half in healthcare settings, offering diverse clinical experiences in south west Wales. With strong ties to Welsh health boards and top-ranked status (Top 10 in the UK, Times Good University Guide 2024), our expert staff—qualified nurses, doctors, and clinicians—provide rigorous training. Facilities include realistic clinical suites, and opportunities exist for Welsh-medium study with potential scholarships. Assessments encompass OSCEs, exams, presentations, and placement evaluations to build transferable skills.
