About the course

Study History and Welsh in Swansea, and be immersed in a area with a rich history and culture dating back thousands of years. This degree programme will allow you to explore the past, while critically examining how it has influenced and shaped the present. As a first language Welsh speaker, you will expand your Welsh literary and lingusitic knowledge. Choose from flexible modules spanning across medieval, early modern and modern historical periods covering British, Welsh, European and American History. Learn about the past through wide-ranging subject areas, including: war and peace, gender and sexuality, medicine and health, heritage, religion and culture. Combine modules in History (delivered in English language) with elective modules delivered in Welsh language. Through these, you will be able to delve further into Welsh language, multiculturalism, The Laws of Hywel Dda, and writing and story-telling throughout the centuries.
