Our BSc in Healthcare Science (Medical Engineering) provides comprehensive training for a skilled career as a medical engineer in healthcare. You will engage in hands-on work with medical devices, covering equipment lifecycle from testing and implementation to safe disposal, while addressing patient safety. The three-year program integrates academic study with practical skills in clinical settings, including specializations in areas like renal or radiotherapy equipment. You will develop expertise in electronic or mechanical engineering, with opportunities for career advancement through advanced practice, Masters, or doctoral studies.The course features state-of-the-art facilities for simulated clinical practice and approximately half the time on placements to apply learned skills. Accredited by the Institute of Physics and Engineering in Medicine, it benefits from strong NHS partnerships.
