About the course

Geography's relevance is greater than ever, from understanding landscape formation and population dynamics to assessing climate change impacts. Our BA and BSc Geography degrees provide practical, numerical, and computational skills for careers in regional planning, environmental management, local authority work, financial planning, computing, business, and retail management. Strong industry ties offer excellent work experience to boost employability. Located near the Gower Peninsula—the UK's first Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty—students access diverse landscapes in Bannau Brycheiniog, rural west Wales, and South Wales, plus overseas fieldwork in Austria, Berlin, Malaysian Borneo, Mallorca, New York, or Vancouver.Explore key issues like climatic change, migration, glaciology, global modelling, Earth observation, and urban theory in our £4.2m state-of-the-art labs, high-performance computing facilities, and advanced equipment. Switch between BA and BSc until Year 2 end; options include a year abroad (L701) or industry (F554). "Geography sharpens an analytical eye, weighing evidence and questioning origins—skills vital in journalism," says Melanie Bromley, BA Geography graduate and US Weekly bureau chief.
