Economics, BSc (Hons), with study abroad

Our BSc Economics with a Year Abroad programme integrates core economics and business principles, preparing students for careers in politics, policy, finance, or business. It delivers theoretical and practical knowledge of economic concepts in business contexts, along with analytical tools for decision-making and strategy. Graduates can apply these skills to advise private firms and governments, influencing economic policy. The programme ranks 16th in the UK for Teaching Satisfaction (Guardian University Guide 2024), 17th for Student Voice (NSS 2023), and 20th for Teaching Quality (Times Good University Guide 2024). Swansea's Economics department provides an excellent learning experience with expert faculty and dedicated employability support, including guidance on placements and internships.Students spend a year abroad between their second and final years, enhancing skills through global partnerships. The curriculum includes compulsory first-year modules such as Current Issues in Economics and Finance for Economics, plus optional modules like Health Economics and Data Mining.
